Transportation System

A transportation system is defined as a unique entity with different components working together with each discharging their respective responsibilities for effective and efficient output and performance.

There are three types of Transportation System

1. Means
2. Mode
3. Motive Power.

Mode
This is defined as the environment that facilitate spatial interaction of the means. It is also the track that propelled the means of transportation.e. g road transport, water transport etc
Mode can also be said to be the channel which is different in one mode of transportation to another.

For example, ship transportation can be said to be water transportation  which is the only route which a ship can access it way.
Air can only move only in the sky which serves as a mode.

Means
It is the means of encapsulation that accommodate the phenomenal in transit. E.g motor, ship, train etc
Means can otherwise be called the system in which the passengers and goods are sat when travelling.

Motive power
This is what propells the means of transportation.
This is the engine that propells the means (vehicle, trains etc). It receives order from the driver and turn it to action
