  1. Devanning  is the process of unloading cargo from a container
  2. Jetty is a structure projecting into a body of water often referred to as walkway and it protect a harbour.
  3. Stevedore is a name given to a person who unloads and loads a vessel
  4.  Hull is the name given to the structure framework of a vessel excluding it engines, equipments et
  5. A liner is a vessel sailing between a specified ports on a regular basis

MAJOR PORT SUBSYSTEM

We discussed recently about port. Today we shall discuss the major port sub system These subsystem are what works together to make a port carry our its activities effectively and efficiently. MAJOR NAVIGATIONAL PORT SUBSYSTEM We have, Navigational Aid Subsystem:  These are equipments that enables safe arrival and exit of vessels from the port. They are placed along coasts to mark safe and danger zone and enables Mariners in determining their position. It makes Mariners to be aware of dangers both on land and on sea. They include lighthouse,buoys,tug boat etc.                      Quay Handling and Transfer subsystem:  These is one of the major subsystem.
