DIFFERENT CONTAINER CRANE

  1. SHIP TO SHORE CONTAINER CRANE
It is a large dock side gantry crane used for loading and unloading of intermodal container from berth to the container ships and from vessels to berth. The operators operate making sure the trolley along rails runs from landside to the waterside lifting the container with spreader from vessel moving it over the dock and them placing it over a trailer to be taken to the storage yard.

2.PORTAL SLEWING CRANE

It performs similar functions to Sea to Shore Crane (STS) with its boom hinged at the waterside of the crane structure and lifted in the air to clear the containers and ships for navigation.

3.Rail mounted Gantry Crane
 It is used for intensive container lifting and stalking because of its strong lifting capacity. It lifts the massive loads beneath the gantry structure supported by a complex system of cables and gantry frame.

We discussed recently about port. Today we shall discuss the major port sub system These subsystem are what works together to make a port carry our its activities effectively and efficiently.
